The EPWP (Expanded Public Works Programme) Economic Sector Venture Learnership programme aims to develop emerging entrepreneurs into fully-fledged entrepreneurs that are able to execute contractors efficiently and effectively. The programme is part of the Learnership 1000 initiative and is a joint initiative of the Western Cape Provincial Government, the National Department of Public Works and the Sector Education and Training Authorities (SETAs). The emphasis of the programme is to develop entrepreneurial and business skills. 200 learnership opportunities are available in the following categories:
Approximately 12 - 30 learnerships are available for each category. There are general criteria for applicants as well as specific criteria for each learnership category. |

Application Procedure Applicants should collect application forms from the nearest municipality or CDW (Community Development Worker) co-ordinator in their area. Applicants then identify and select a maximum of 2 learnerships from the available categories and complete the learnership application form. Applications should be accompanied by certified, and not original, copies of required documents. Applicants are required to attend compulsory briefings. Completed application forms should be returned to the local municipal office. Correspondence will be limited to short-listed candidates who will undergo a written assessment and an evaluation.
