The Sustainability Atlas is a set of thematic maps that spatially represent Local Municipalities in the Western Cape in terms of the Sustainable Development categories. These categories are
- Economy
- Human Settlements
- Energy and Climate Change
- Water and Waste
- Biodiversity and Natural Resource Management
These categories were defined in the Concept Paper on Sustainable Development issued in May 2005.
The Atlas is a visual display of statistics by geographical region, and is an information tool to assist and guide stakeholders in all aspects of development.
