The Centre for e-Innovation (Ce-I) provides information and communication technology (ICT) services to the Provincial Government of the Western Cape, including driving its e-government strategy.
The Ce-I has four major roles:
- To provide and support the basic ICT infrastructure upon which most
of the government's activities depend. - To provide and support applications that improve the efficiency of
government administration, lower costs and reduce the scope for
corruption. - To provide and support applications that enable the government to
deliver better services. - To build an inclusive Information Society.
The Ce-I has six major divisions, each of which is involved in a wide range of projects and activities. They have the potential not only to transform the working practices of government, but also the lives of the province's people.
- Education, Cultural Affairs and Sport
- Health, Social Services and Housing
- Policy and Strategy
- Economic Governance and Administration
- Planning and Development
- Transversal Infrastructure
