The summit will see the four social partners, civil society, the private sector, labour and government reporting back on their achievements following the very successful Growth and Development Summit held in November 2003.
The partners will report back on progress in job creation, human resource development, investment, infrastructure and the logistical challenge, economic participation and enterprise development, and governance and local development.
Tomorrow's mini-summit is part of a post-summit process and a mid-term review on progress made towards achieving the outcomes agreed to by the four social partners in the GDS framework agreement.
Registration will start at 9.30am, Premier Ebrahim Rasool will deliver the keynote address at 10.10. A progress report on the framework agreement for growth and development and social dialogue will be presented by the executive director of the Western Cape Provincial Development Council, Adrian Sayers.
From 11.30 to 12.00 the social partners will report back on progress made over the last year.
Fanie Bekker represents organised business, Tony Ehrenreich will speak on behalf of labour, Leonie Caroline will do a report back for civil society and Provincial Minister Tasneem Essop will represent government.
