The Minister for Agriculture in the Western Cape, Cobus Dowry, will be present at the handing out of food vouchers to survivors and family members of the train crash that claimed the lives of 19 farmworkers on 13 November last year.

The food vouchers that will be handed to the victims is jointly sponsored by Shoprite Checkers and the Departement of Agriculture in the Western Cape and will assist the beneficiaries for the next three months on a monthly basis. This is a further stage in the ongoing support to the relatives and follows the support rendered by the Department of Social Services for the first three months after the accident.

The ceremony will take place at the Sport Clubhouse in Klapmuts at 10h00 on 14 February 2007.
