Melkbos Cultural Centre just south of Melbosstrand is very popular and is situated on the Atlantic coast in the metropole 32km north of Cape Town. It is surrounded by dunes and protected, rare and indigenous strandveld and renosterfynbos veld types. There is access to the beach and panoramic views of Robben Island, Table Mountain and Table Bay.Distance from Cape Town: 30 km
Minimum Group Size: 40 Schools or cultural groups organising a cultural programme or workshop may hire one of the seven cultural facilities in the Western Cape in Melkbosstrand, Stellenbosch, Simondium, Paarl, Oudtshoorn and Koekenaap. The spectacular surroundings, in which each of these facilities is located, are themselves an inspiration to creativity. Almost all these facilities offer conference and accommodation facilities. Bookings are for groups of 40 (forty) or more and a deposit is applicable. Weekend bookings are for Fridays from 16:00 to Sunday at 14:00. The facilities are not available for only a part of the weekend, including Fridays. The Cultural Services administers these facilities on behalf of the Western Cape Cultural Commission (WCCC). |
