The Plant Pathology laboratory at Elsenburg renders a plant disease diagnostic service to the public of the Western Cape. It specialises in the fields of vegetable-, small grain-, lupin- and canola diseases. The tests performed at the laboratory are aimed at identifying disease-causing organisms of the following kind:

The following samples are required to perform the tests:
Samples must be accompanied by a submission form, which can be found on the Elsenburg website. The samples must be received in a suitable condition to perform standard plant pathological methods on it. The Western Cape Department of Agriculture and its employees accept no liability for the outcome of this examination. Seed tests are priced according to the organism being tested for. Each case is handled individually. Prices include VAT and are subject to increases from time to time. Invoices are sent via mail to the accountable person, as indicated by the client on the submission form. |
