Provincial Animal Health Service
DESCRIPTION:
Various animal health schemes are in operation, e.g. Bovine Tubreculosis and Brucellosis eradication schemes. Testing of rams for genital diseases and fertility is also undertaken. Disease surveillance projects are carried out when evidence is obtained that certain diseases negatively impact the provincial herd. Stock farmers are advised on a regular basis on preventative health practices and disease control methodologies.

To access this service, visit your nearest State Veterinary Office. If possible, it is advisable to make an appointment beforehand.

Depends on the type of inquiry, as well as the financial ability of the owner of the animal. A "pay-as-you-can" approach is followed for people from poor and previously disadvantaged communities.
