In keeping with the vision of making the Western Cape "A Home for All", and also supporting the Social Capital Formation and the Human Resource Development strategies, the Western Cape Cultural Commission (WCCC) invites project proposals from cultural organisations within the Province

PROJECT CRITERIA

The project must comply with the following requirements: ·

  • be arts and culture related
  • harness project events to contribute to economic growth, job creation and poverty alleviation
  • have a strong emphasis on youth development
  • be integrated through prioritising the need for gender balance, disability and cultural diversity
  • be specific in terms of training in and developing the art form
  • operate within the following fields/genres: Dance, Drama, Music, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Crafts and Theatre
  • state its impact and outcomes
  • clearly indicate the target group that will benefit from it (e.g. youth)
  • operate within the boundaries of the Western Cape.

ORGANISATIONAL CRITERIA

The organisation must comply with the following requirements: ·

  • must be a fully constituted cultural organisation
  • must have a bank account in the name of the organisation
  • should indicate how the project will be monitored and evaluated
  • should indicate that effective financial systems are in place (registered auditor/accountant/bookkeeper).

18 August 2006, 4pm.

NOTE: The submission of a proposal does not guarantee funding and the decision of the provincial Minister for Cultural Affairs, Sport and Recreation will be final.
