The Human Resource Development & Training Library provides a special library health service to all government staff as well as to professionals outside of government. Doctors, nurses, students from a variety of disciplines, administration staff and training facilitators are all welcome and could benefit from using the library. It is situated in the Karl Bremer Hospital grounds in Bellville. For those who cannot access the library physically, courier services may be utilised. (See Courier Service link below). The collection (books, journals, reports, pamphlets, videos) covers all aspects of health, from mental to emotional health, to diagnosis and management of disease, to research. It explores conventional and complementary approaches to health and medicine. It also has sections on management, and human resource development and training. Pamphlets, posters and condoms are available for distribution in limited quantities. |

INSTRUCTIONS: |
To be a member you need to complete a library membership form (Persal and ID numbers are requested). You may fax it or return it electronically if you are unable to come in. Items may then be accessed immediately. All items have a 3-week loan period and a maximum of 6 items may be taken at a time. Items may be reserved or renewed (unless already reserved). Items should be returned or renewed timeously. Members are financially liable for very late, unreturned or lost library items. The library offers assistance with research queries, including Internet searches. INTERNAL MAIL (COURIER SERVICE) Library items may be delivered to users via our courier service by pre-arrangement. We deliver to all Provincial Departments in the Dorp Street/ Wale Street/ Queen Victoria Street and St Georges Mall area. If your department or facility has a driver, items may be collected from the library without your having to come in. Monthly library newsletters are sent via e-mail to all Department of Health staff in the Metro to highlight new library developments as well the library's new books and videos.
