The National Education Strategy prioritises HIV/AIDS in education and requires HIV/AIDS to be included in the curriculum as part of Life Orientation.Details on the WCED's HIV/AIDS programme can be found on the department's web site. The programme's main aim is to prevent the spread of HIV, but it also aims to reduce negative perceptions of people living with HIV/AIDS. The programme is linked to life skills and values such as negotiation, problem-solving and assertiveness. |
