1.What is the Tourism Collective Bursary Programme?

The Tourism Collective Bursary Programme is aimed at students studying or wishing to study at a recognised public Higher Educational Institution towards a relevant tourism qualification.

2. Bursary amount

The amount varies and will be considered based on the criteria.

3. Bursary Duration.

The duration of the bursary is annual (year-on-year).

4. Tenable

Higher Educational qualifications in Tourism academic fields offered at public Higher Educational and Further Education and Training Institutions located in the Western Cape.

5. Application Date

The application for this bursary opens on the 08 January 2010 and closes on the 29 January 2010.

6. Who Can Apply for a Bursary?

To apply for one of these bursaries you must be:
  • South African citizens residing in the Western Cape.
  • Youth who wish to pursue their academic studies in the hospitality, tourism and events management academic fields.
  • Youth who have already embarked on tertiary studies and will be completing their 2nd or 3rd year of study in the relevant academic fields.
  • Youth Individuals who demonstrate potential in and high academic achievements.
  • Previously disadvantaged youth who demonstrate a keen interest in pursuing a career in the Tourism industry.
INSTRUCTIONS:

5. How Do I Apply?

To apply for this bursary you need to submit the following:

  • Completed Bursary application forms.

  • Copy of current tertiary grades (mid-year and/or final year results for academic year 2009 will be considered).

  • Cost estimate for annual studies.

  • Certified copy of identity document.

  • Certified copy of proof of annual income of parent/s and/or legal guardian/s.

  • Written confirmation by the academic institution of the applicant's enrolment for full-time study at the said institution if available.
