Applications to Use a Public Road for Sport Purposes
DESCRIPTION:
Members of the public can apply to use a public road to stage an event such as a sporting event.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Applications to use a provincial road for sport purposes need to be made to the Department of Transport and Public Works' Law Administration Division. You should submit a letter of application containing all the details of the event at least six weeks before the event takes place.

Conditions or constraints will depend on the type of event.

PRICE:
There is a R70 administration fee, and a traffic assistance fee.

Fee structure for traffic assistance:
Traffic assistance: R48.00 per hour per officer
Kilometre tariff: R2,68 per kilometre per vehicle
Daily tariff: 1,63 per hour

Please note that the traffic assistance fees will be revised later in 2003. Also, traffic assistance fees will depend on the type of assistance required.
