Curriculum Vitae

Minister Hangana was born on 12 April 1956 and attended Siseko Senior Secondary School in Debe-Nek. In 1984 she obtained a diploma in Para-Legal studies.

She has two boys, Mkhululi and Loyiso and one girl, Thandiwe.

1985 - 1989 Employed by the Legal Resources in Centre Cape Town as a para-legal practitioner.
1989 - 1990 Employed by Ngcuka and Matana as a para-legal practitioner.
1990 - 1993 Full-time secretary of the ANC Women's League for two terms.
1993 Served as a member of the National Executive of the ANC Women's League.
1994 Member of the National Assembly
1997 Chairperson of the Housing Portfolio Committee
1999 Member of the National Assembly
Chairperson of the Housing Portfolio Committee
2001 Appointed as MEC for Housing in the Western Cape
