What are our first main programmes?

The iKapa 11 are our first main programmes to encourage faster and shared growth:

1. Human settlements:
Link housing to transport and facilities to improve community life

2. Climate change:
Less water and hotter weather means a new more sustainable way of life

3. Drugs, gangs and substance abuse:
Bringing down crime and address the damage of drugs

4. Scarce skills:
Learning to do the things that will give us jobs in the future

5. World Cup 2010:
Setting up and staging the World Cup will bring investment, development, infrastructure and social cohesion

6. Public transport:
Develop safe, affordable and reliable ways for everyone to travel and to commute to work

7. Property development:
Use our land wisely for sustainable development

8. Expanded Public Works Programme:
Create better skills, more jobs and linking government and people

9. A Home for All:
Everyone should feel that they 'belong' and are a valuable part of their Province

10. Governance:
Improve the way we are governed to ensure accountable, responsive and united government for everyone

11. Second economy:
Help the second economy to grow and become stronger so that there are more jobs, reducing poverty
