The Education Inspectorate managed and completed more than 1000 projects to the value of R127 million, more than double their annual budget. This means that the work that should have been done over a period of two years was completed in one financial year. This achievement was accomplished through a very positive commitment towards their work. The news of their extended budget came at a very late stage in the financial year, which resulted in a lot of pressure being put on the shoulders of the staff members.

According to Anthony van Niekerk, Manager: Technical Support, the team went beyond their normal call of duty by working after hours and in some cases over weekends.

This is just another example of service delivery to better the quality of life of our citizens. Thousands of learners and educators across the province can now enjoy neat and secure educational environment thanks to our Education Inspectorate.
