Premier Ebrahim Rasool and members of the Provincial Cabinet will launch the Western Cape Provincial Government Substance Abuse Strategy at Tafelsig Secondary School today at 12:00. The new strategy focusses on working in a focussed fashion in specific communities, assisting them to work with Government and the NGO sector in addressing the supply, demand and rehabilitation aspects of substance abuse, especially Tik.

The Premier and Ministers will join teams that will go out into the community around the school [Assegaaibos Street, Blaauberg and Bakenskop streets] to discuss the new approach, the media are welcome to accompany this and a media conference will then be held at 12h50 at the school.

This will be followed by the launch of a joint schools production in which learners play the key roles, titled 'Race against Tik' today at the Joseph Stone Auditorium in Athlone at 14h00. Minister Dugmore and Premier Rasool will attend this event and speak.
