Premier Ebrahim Rasool will attend an Africa Day Mass at the Roman Catholic St Mary's Cathedral, in Roeland Street, Cape Town on Sunday 22 May 2005, at 9h15 am.
This will form the first part of the Province's celebration of this important day for all Africans.
The Africa Day Mass will start with a celebration of African music and dance on the Cathedral steps at 9h15. The liturgy proper begins with the Archbishop and Priests from across the continent processing with the flags of Africa at 10h00.
Mass will be celebrated in the many languages of the people of the city. The Magnificat choir, a marimba band and the choir of St Gabriel's church, Gugulethu will sing the newly composed 'Mass of Africa'.
The clergy present will concelebrate the Mass.
