Western Cape to Celebrate Africa Day for the First Time

Premier Ebrahim Rasool will host the Western Cape's first formal commemoration and celebration of Africa Day in an 'Africa Day Concert' on Wednesday, 25 May 2005, at 18h30 for 19h00 in the Cape Town City Hall.

Guests at the Concert will be welcomed by a Marimba band in the foyer of the City Hall. The MC willl be Bankole Amotoso [of the Vodacom advertisements]. Entertainment will be provided by amongst others the Young Tenors, Abaqondisi and Ringo. The Premier and Guest of Honour, Minister Terror Lekotha will give brief Africa Day addresses.

The media are invited to attend and cover this event. Refreshments will be provided.
