Mr. Shaun Byneveldt, Speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament (WCPP), will host the citizens from Saldanha Bay, St. Helena Bay, Paternoster, Vredenburg, Diazville, Langebaan and Hopefield.
These residents of the West Coast region will also attend the formal sitting of the WCPP to see for themselves how business is conducted in this institution. During tomorrow's sitting various Ministers (members of the executive council) will orally reply to numerous question posed by WCPP members.
The visit is in line with the strategic plan to promote the WCPP as a people-owned institution, facilitate public involvement, enhance public participation and market it's activities.
Important briefings on the committee programme for Parliament this week include a discussion of the Grade 10 examination results for June 2006, the Expanded Public Works Programme (Thursday), youth at risk, poverty alleviation strategy and human resources in the health department (Friday).
