On their visits to schools, each MEC is expected to have a short meeting with the principal and senior staff for not more 15 minutes and thereafter address a special assembly of learners (for not more than 30 minutes). A senior WCED official is to accompany each MEC.
NB: Premier Rasool will no longer be visiting Parkhurst Primary in Mitchell's Plain due to a funeral, but MEC Dugmore will visit the school as announced earlier.

The Western Cape cabinet has been visiting schools across the province to welcome the 920,000 learners, including 80,000 grade 1s, back into school.
The Western Cape Cabinet has been checking on the state of readiness of the schools and either acknowledging and congratulating high schools that have performed well in the 2007 examinations or using the visits to encourage and motivate those that have not done so well.
