Report on Language Policy in the Primary Schools of the Western Cape

This report examines the current situation regarding the language of instruction on WC primary schools and makes two core recommendations. The first recommendation is that a policy of mother tongue based bilingual education be implemented in Grades R - 6. The second recommendation is that incentives be instituted to guide learners towards electing to take a third official language of the Province as their second additional language.  >
