1. TENDERS FOR NATIONAL GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS
Cape Gateway does not advertise tenders for National and Provincial Administration contracts. They are advertised in the following places:
- The South African Government Information website's Tenders page
- The Department of Trade and Industry's Government Tender Bulletins page
- The Government Tender Bulletin, which comes out on Fridays. You can subscribe to the Bulletin for R34.20 a year by contacting the Government Printer on 012 334 4735 / 012 334 4736 / 012 334 4737.
2. TENDERS FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS
Cape Gateway does
not advertise tenders for Local Government contracts. Municipal tenders, including those for the City of Cape Town, are advertised in local newspapers (usually the legal section of the Classified ads) and displayed in public places such as libraries and council noticeboards.
The following Municipalities (Local Governments) also advertise job vacancies online:
Note You have to be registered with the Western Cape Supplier Database in order to tender for a Local Government contract with the City of Cape Town. This database is shared with the Provincial Government (see below).
3. TENDERS FOR PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS

here.
- Tenders under R5 000 are sourced by means of telephonic enquiries from possible suppliers.
- Tenders more than R5 000 and under R50 000 are managed by an independent third party called TradeWorld. You will need to be registered on the Western Cape Supplier Database to subscribe to receive and bid for open tenders. Registration is free, while subscribing to receive tender advertisements costs R225 per month if you are an SMME.
