City of Cape Town
This policy forms the foundation for an environmental management strategy for the City of Cape Town. It has six priority strategies to deal with protecting our biodiversity and our coastal zone, preventing litter and illegal dumping, reducing air pollution and noise pollution, and creating quality open space. The policy includes a strategy on transportation, which seeks to maximise the benefits of transportation systems while minimising environmental costs, to create and promote a public transport system that is safe, accessible and affordable, and to minimise the need to travel.  >

The objective of the policy is to facilitate and regulate the development of the film industry. This means balancing the needs of the industry against the needs of the general public. It outlines the steps to follow in the permit process, including procedures for road usage, and is intended to assist the City of Cape Town to develop a responsive and efficient service, considerate of film location applications.  >
