INTRODUCTION

The Office of the Consumer Protector is responsible for assisting consumers in the Western Cape with consumer complaints and consumer education.

The Office consists of three sections:

• Complaints Management
• Consumer Education
• Consumer Fair Trade

CONSUMER TRIBUNAL

The Office of the Consumer Protector acts as a "prosecutor" on behalf of consumers in order to bring their complaints/cases before the Consumer Tribunal, which is a special court that hears consumer complaints.
