There are many definitions of social capital.
Simply,
it is about developing the potential relationships with people around
us: those in or communities, in our schools, at the workplace, even
with our neighbours.
The idea that creating social capital (i.e. creating networks) will strengthen civil society underlies the social policies of many countries and is aimed at bridging deepening social divisions - the core idea being that the denser and more diverse the networks in a community, the more likely that its citizens will be able to cooperate for mutual benefit.

policies, as shown in practical projects.
It is a space for practitioners of social capital across health, education and social
sciences to learn, network and celebrate their work. • more
