The
Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport provides services in the
fields of arts, culture, heritage, sport and recreation in order to
improve the quality of life of the people of the Western Cape.
Through
culture, sport and recreation, the safety, health, education and
welfare of citizens can be encouraged and facilitated. Cultural and
sports activities also provide opportunities to prevent and address
problems of crime, health and antisocial behaviour.
