INFORMATION SERVICES: OVERVIEW

The Sub-Directorate Information Services is responsible for the provision of a reliable GIS (Geographic Information Systems) resource facility and for rendering information services within the Department in order to support line function decision-making. The Sub-Directorate comprises three (3) divisions, namely, a Spatial Data Division, a Non-Spatial Data Division, and a Marketing and Awareness Division, with the following core functions:

  • Spatial Data acquisition, maintenance and provision
  • GIS Awareness
  • Internal and External marketing
  • Special Project execution
  • Information System Support and Development
  • Demographic Data acquisition, maintenance and provision
  • Informational products
  • Research and Development
