Call for Project Proposals for Western Cape Biotechnology Sector
OBJECTIVE:
The Cape Biotech Initiative (CBI) sets out to create a thriving biotechnology sector in the Western Cape based on the commitments outlined in the National Strategy for Biotechnology. Some of these commitments are to:
  • improve human healthcare quality
  • provide enough cost effective nutrition
  • create jobs in manufacturing
  • sustain and enrich our natural environment.

DESCRIPTION:

Cape Biotech is looking to invest a substantial amount of money (almost R50 million) in new and exciting 3rd generation biotechnology projects.

Human Health and Industrial Bioprocessing are the areas in which Cape Biotech would like to invest.

Cape Biotech has launched an online "New Opportunity Capturing Model" on its website, creating an easy channel to send in your proposals.

This is free and can be accessed once you have registered on the Cape Biotech member's area of the website.

In addition to the "New Opportunity Capturing Model" the member's area also contains useful information about the current projects funded, community news, interesting articles, up coming events and biotech personality profiles.
