City of Cape Town Cleansing Services
DESCRIPTION:
The municipality is responsible for ensuring that its area is clean and litter free. This includes providing bins, cleaning crews and enforcing by laws against littering and other pollution.

The following complaints can be directed to the Cleansing Branch:

  • illegal dumping
  • litter on river banks
  • litter on beaches
  • overflowing street litter bins
  • street sweeping
  • uncollected refuse.

Waste from the different suburbs of Cape Town are taken to one of the six land fill sites. If you wish to dump waste you can contact the sites at the following numbers:

INSTRUCTIONS:
To make a complaint you can call the Cleansing Branch Customer Care Desk at 021 400 5931.To make a complaint about illegal dumping in progress contact the Civic Patrol Branch at 021 447 2366.
