The Provincial Government of the Western Cape is committed to ensuring that the Province is A Home for All. As part of this commitment, Premier Ebrahim Rasool, in his State of the Province address, announced that over the next 100 days (28 May to 7 September 2004), the Provincial Government would take clear action to improve life for the people of the Western Cape. In his 100 Day Deposits, the Premier committed the government to creating: The 100 day deposits are intended to clearly show the citizens of the Western Cape, that the Provincial Government is committed to and cares greatly about the people of this province. "This is a responsive and caring government. Over the next 100 days citizens throughout this province will receive a clear signal of the care and commitment of this Government. Action to be taken over these 100 days is only a deposit on the better life, a deposit on the contract with the people to create work and to fight poverty, a deposit on the objectives of iKapa elihlumayo, namely: dignity, equity and prosperity. These hundred days will also serve as a tangible signal of our direction over the next five years."
