The Effects of Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorus (P) on the Production of Irrigated Perennial Ryegrass, White Clover and Kikuyu in the Rûens Subregion of the Southern Cape
OBJECTIVE:
This research aims to determine the relationship between dry matter (DM) production of perennial ryegrass, white clover, and kikuyu and soil P in combination with different levels of topdressed fertiliser N.
START:
2000
END:
2004
STATUS:
Underway
DESCRIPTION:

Treatments include 5 levels of P (0, 80, 160, 240 and 300kg P/ha - incorporated to a depth of approximately 150mm prior to planting) and 5 levels of N (0, 200, 400, 600 and 800kg N/ha/annum).

Soil-P status of treatment plots are determined once a year. DM production recorded at four- (summer) and five-week (winter) intervals.
