Professional Development of Grade 12 Teachers: ACE
INKCAZELO:
Advanced Certificate in Education (ACE) courses are available for teachers of Grade 12 Biology, English, Mathematics and Physical Science. This training focuses on upgrading the subject knowledge and teaching skills of educators.

Educators are nominated to participate by the WCED. Only serving teachers who have a matriculation certificate plus a three-year teachers' diploma are eligible.

In 2002-2003, 30 teachers per course were nominated via the EMDCs.

These two-year courses are approved by SAQA and consist of a combination of contact and distance learning.

Contact learning takes place:

  • two to three weeks (before the schools start) in January
  • one week during the April school holiday
