N2 Gateway Project Accommodation Applications
INKCAZELO:
National, Province and the City of Cape Town have completed phase one of the N2 Gateway project, a joint pilot venture aimed at accelerating the delivery of human settlements in the Western Cape.

To date 705 rental units have been constructed and applicants are invited to apply for accommodation. Plans for phase two are currently being developed.
IMIYALELO:
Government is calling on all qualifying informal and backyard dwellers in the following areas to apply for the available rental stock of phase one:

  • Bokmakierie
  • Bonteheuwel
  • Gugulethu
  • Joe Slovo
  • Langa
  • Nyanga

Who qualifies for these rental units
To qualify for these rental unit people must, amongst other criteria, meet the following:

  • Must be a South African citizen with a valid South African identity document
  • Must be a resident of one of the mentioned areas
  • Must be on the database (waiting list)
  • Must be able to afford the rent
  • Applicant should not be the owner of a residential property
  • Should earn between R1200 - R3500

To apply for the N2 project accommodation applicants must complete the application form. Applications forms can be collected from and returned to the following venues:

Bokmakierie

All applications must be submitted in person, along with the following documents:
  • a certified copy of your ID
  • a copy your latest payslip
  • your red waiting list card

Community development workers will be available at the venues to help applicants. Applicants will receive a confirmation slip with a reference number once they've submitted their forms.

Allocation of these rental units will be determined by the number of qualifying applicants from each of the named areas

If you don't qualify in phase one you can still apply for phase two which will provide you with more options for settlement.
