This Act promotes cooperative environmental governance. It establishes principles for decision-making on matters affecting the environment and provides for environmental institutions that promote co-operative governance. It also creates procedures for coordinating the actions of different government bodies that impact on the environment.

This Act provides for the conservation of the marine ecosystem. It aims to ensure that marine resources are used in sustainable manner by controlling which resources can be used and how, and by stating which resources need to be protected. It aims to make sure that the marine resources that are available are shared equally and fairly.

This legislation aims to consolidate and amend Provincial road traffic provisions. The Act includes laws on establishing registering authorities, appointing licence inspectors, vehicle examiners, driving licences examiners and traffic officers, registering driving instructors, inspecting drivers licence testing stations, establishing driving licence testing centres and parking fees.

This Act provides for the purchase and sale of land by the Provincial Government of the Western Cape. The Act includes provisions for acquiring immovable property, disposing of provincial land and establishing and maintaining a provincial state land register.
