Just one day after introducing the logo of the Western Cape government's Home for All campaign, Premier Rasool has added substance to achieving this vision by announcing his Government's next set of installments on the People's Contract. These build on the 95% success rate of the 100 Day Deposits.
Premier Rasool said: "Even as 2004 draws to a close and many are taking a well deserved rest around the festive season, we want citizens to know that their Government will be hard at work to deliver a set of targets by April 2005. We want everyone to safely enjoy these holidays, especially with the knowledge that we will be working hard on our future.
"This Government is goal orientated, responsive to needs, target driven and deadline bound. These new targets put the public service to clear terms of work and will cement the shift of Government toward sustainable growth and inclusive development. The April installments are substantial and will make a real difference as we demonstrate our commitment to making iKapa Elihlumayo work."
While Government finalises the medium-term provincial growth and development strategy, iKapa Elihlumayo (growing and sharing the Cape), it is vital to ensure that government departments do everything possible to ensure accelerated service delivery to our people. It is in this light that the Premier and his Cabinet decided to embark on a new campaign to ensure sustained service delivery. The purpose of the April Target Campaign is to ensure consistent, strategic and clear delivery to fulfil the people's contract.
The April Target Campaign is a commitment by government to pull out all the stops to ensure that the following deliverables of various departments are achieved in the four months to the end of April 2005. It is a further reflection of the government's commitment to responsive governance.
