The Premier chaired a Provincial Government meeting, including all key role players at 11h00. Another meeting is scheduled for 12h30 that will include Metro authorities.
Reports of damage [roads, informal dwellings, infrastructure, houses, etc] and flooding have been received from many parts of the Province.
These are constantly being updated, but are still being hampered by ongoing storm weather in parts and inaccessibility in others, due to flooding.
At this point the Cape Agulhas municipality appears to have been worst hit. Pending weather improvements, the Premier and a team will fly to the Cape Agulhas, Overstrand and Theewaterskloof Muncipalities later today to assess damage in person from the air and to meet with Municipal authorities as necessary.
Further updates will follow as responses and planning are aligned to needs. All relevant State services are deployed to provide every form of assistance possible.
