The Red Cross Children's Hospital has a new pharmacy, thanks to the project management efforts of Public Works. Here Laura Angeletti du Toit joins Dr Dennis Adams (left), CEO of the Red Cross Children's Hospital, and Stanley Bolnik at the opening ceremony of the new pharmacy, which was upgraded as part of a general upgrading project that includes the ground floor of the main building.
The total cost of the project is close to R5 million. Planning started at the end of 2002 and a contractor was appointed one year later. The project included the extension of the dispensary area, the provision of a rest room for staff, a private counselling room and an additional store for anti-retroviral medicine. The end product is a pharmacy that complies fully with the new Pharmacy Act.
