Whilst Government believes that the fundamentals of the Housing Policy and Strategy (1994) remain relevant and sound, a new plan is required to redirect and enhance existing mechanisms to move towards more responsive and effective delivery. The new human settlements plan reinforces the vision of the National Department of Housing, to promote the achievement of a non-racial, integrated society through the development of sustainable human settlements and quality housing, throughout South Africa.   >
