"We are awaiting confirmation from the Country Co-ordinating Mechanism of the South African National Aids Council that a contribution of more than R465 million (66,509,557 US Dollars) spread over 5 years, has been made to the Western Cape by the Global Aids Fund. It is on record that the Western Cape's Aids Programme has applied for funding from the Global Fund. At this stage we cannot issue any statement regarding the contribution before we have had official confirmation the co-ordinating mechanism."
